5th October 2023 - Author: Kassandra Jimenez-Sanchez

Global insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has announced the appointment of Isabel Blazquez Solano as CEO of Brazil, and Daniela Diaz as head of Peru, within its Reinsurance Solutions business.

Solano has extensive industry experience across EMEA and Latin America. She joined Aon in October 2022 from Brazilian reinsurer IRB(Re), where she was chief underwriting officer. Prior to that, she held positions within the Europe & CEE operations of reinsurer MAPFRE Re.

Based in Rio De Janeiro, Solano will be responsible for Aon’s two Brazil offices – in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. She will be reporting to Paula Ferreira, Reinsurance Solutions’ Latin America CEO.

Commenting on her appointment, Solano said: “Joining such a prestigious team as Aon’s Reinsurance Solutions and being appointed in this Brazil leadership role is an honor and an amazing opportunity.”

Ferreira said: “Isabel brings a wealth of reinsurance industry experience to her new role. Her strategic vision and passion for serving clients aligns perfectly with our Aon Story mission.

“As reinsurance CEO of Brazil, she will continue to promote a culture of growth and collaboration, focused on serving clients’ needs in an increasingly complex and volatile environment.”

Diaz will be leading Reinsurance Solutions in the Peru market as part of the Andean subregion. She joined Aon nine years ago and has more than 15 years of insurance industry experience.

In her new role, she will continue to drive Aon’s position as an agnostic capital advisor, encouraging the utilisation and growth of both facultative and treaty business, while boosting the firm’s regional strategy.

Ferreira added: “Daniela has constantly delivered positive results for our facultative business and has a vast technical and commercial background. She has extensive industry experience and leadership skills, and both she and Isabel will be invaluable to the wider Reinsurance Solutions Latin America team as we continue to implement Aon’s strategy to offer our capabilities, services and solutions in Brazil and help clients to navigate volatility and build resilience. Brazil and Peru remain key areas of focus for Aon, and we continue to invest in our local capabilities to shape better business decisions for clients.”

“Together, and with the support of my Latin America and global colleagues, we will continue to build our Peru team, delivering outstanding services and value beyond our clients’ expectations,” said Diaz.
