Aon names John English CEO of Aon Captive & Insurance Management

Insurance and reinsurance broker Aon has announced the appointment of John English as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Aon Captive & Insurance Management, effective June 1st, 2018.

John English AonCurrently Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Aon Captive & Insurance Management & Managing Director of Aon Captive & Insurance Management EMEA, English has been with Aon for 10 years and brings more than 30 years of industry experience to the role.

He will continue to be based in London, and will report to Rory Moloney, CEO of Aon Global Risk Consulting, and will work closely with the global leadership teams across the broker’s risk business.

Moloney, commented: “John’s diverse geographical experience, extensive knowledge of the captive industry and deep understanding of client needs means he is perfectly positioned to deliver innovative and market-leading solutions to clients.

“John’s focus on key initiatives, including the use of data and analytics within our core captive management proposition and the development of our White Rock and Insurance Linked Securities Management business, will help the firm reinforce our leadership in terms of innovation and value creation.”

The appointment follows the announcement of Eric Andersen and Michael O’Connor as Co-Presidents of the firm, with Aon planning to retire its business unit brands, Aon Risk Solutions and Aon Benfield, creating instead an integrated global Operating Committee.
