Aon, the global insurance and reinsurance broking group, has appointed Lambros Lambrou as its Chief Strategy Officer, where he will be responsible for key Aon Executive Committee initiatives, effective immediately.

Aon explains that these initiatives are core to the “Aon United” strategy and 3×3 Plan, including support of Aon’s “independent and connected” NFP strategy.

It has been a year since Aon acquired NFP, which expanded the firm’s access to the middle market, accelerating its performance.

Lambrou continues to work closely with Doug Hammond, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), NFP and his leadership team to further bring out the best of the two companies for clients.

The pair will continue to report to Greg Case, CEO, Aon.

With Lambrou’s appointment, the firm has initiated an internal search for his successor as CEO of Human Capital. In the role, he helped drive growth by integrating the broker’s Health, Wealth, and Talent solutions.

Prior to this, Lambrou served as Aon’s global CEO of Commercial Risk and before that as Chief Commercial Officer, and CEO of Global Specialties for Commercial Risk Solutions. In the past, he has served as CEO of Aon’s retail business in Australia and Global Broking Centre in London, Chief Broking Officer of EMEA, Global Chief Operating Officer for Aon Broking, and Head of Aon Analytics.

Case commented, “Lambros is a proven Aon leader with deep experience serving clients across Human Capital and Risk Capital. In collaboration with NFP’s leadership team and colleagues, Lambros will build on the momentum we have created together in the first year of our NFP partnership, as we deliver shared and distinctive content and capability to our clients.”

Hammond added, “I am excited to work more closely with Lambros and continue to drive the success of our ‘independent and connected’ strategy. Our first year as an Aon company included many positive outcomes and we are well positioned to deliver many more as we further align our expertise, capabilities and resources to meet the dynamic needs of our clients.”

Lambrou stated, “One year into our partnership, our independent and connected model is working in bringing the best of Aon and NFP to our clients. I am excited to work more with Doug and the entire NFP team to further enhance our collaboration and accelerate the delivery of unmatched value to our clients.”
