Global professional services firm Aon has appointed Steve Dando as Chief Broking Officer for its Global Broking Center (GBC), effective 1 July.
As Chief Broking Officer, Dando is responsible for shaping the broking strategy for the London-based GBC, Aon’s wholesale and specialty broking business.
He will reportedly strengthen market relationships while leading the integration of analytics, capital and global expertise to deliver innovative risk transfer solutions for clients.
Dando most recently served as CEO of Aon’s Strategy and Technology Group and Inpoint across the UK and EMEA, where he led approximately 350 colleagues spanning advisory, analytics and portfolio strategy.
Before joining Aon, Dando served as Global Head of Broking at The Ardonagh Group, where he built and led the firm’s broking and carrier management strategy. He has also worked at other industry brokers.
“In partnership with Aon teams around the world, the GBC provides insight-driven risk transfer advice, advanced placement solutions, proactive market insight and claims expertise to drive enhanced outcomes for clients,” Aon explained.
Emphasising the GBC’s strategic importance within its global operating model, Aon said the business plays a central role in connecting its global capabilities with the London market, structuring complex placements and developing innovative solutions across specialty lines.
It also leads the development and delivery of proprietary facilities, including Aon Client Treaty, which gives clients access to pre-secured Lloyd’s-backed capacity, and Aon’s Data Center Lifecycle Insurance Program, a multi-line solution designed to address complex, interconnected risks throughout the entire asset lifecycle.
GBC CEO, Helene Madell, to whom Dando will report, commented, “Steve is highly regarded across the London market and brings strong credibility with clients and partners. His leadership will be important as we continue to strengthen the Global Broking Center’s role as a trusted and innovative partner in an evolving market.”
Dando said, “It is a privilege to take on this role at such an important time for our clients and for the market. Demand for insight, certainty and advocacy is increasing as risks become more complex and interconnected.
“Our focus is to bring together Aon’s global expertise and data-driven insight to help clients navigate this environment and secure the right outcomes.”
