Arch Insurance International appoints Barrett as Deputy Active Underwriter, Lloyd’s Syndicate 2012

Arch Insurance International, part of Arch Capital Group and a provider of specialty insurance solutions across multiple lines, has appointed James Barrett as Deputy Active Underwriter for Lloyd’s Syndicate 2012, effective immediately.

Arch Insurance logoIn his new role, Barrett deputises for James Croome, Active Underwriter, in leading all activities relating to Syndicate 2012.

He also takes on the expanded role of Head of Specialty Casualty, maintaining leadership of the cyber and healthcare portfolios and working closely with Maggie Munns, Head of Executive Assurance (EA) to provide strategic oversight of the EA portfolio.

Barrett is based in London, and reports to Mike Lay, Chief Underwriting Officer, Long Tail Lines. His responsibilities include strategic planning, performance management and leading engagement with Lloyd’s.

He joined Arch in 2018 and has two decades of underwriting experience, having most recently served as Head of Cyber & Healthcare.
