Bermuda-based re/insurance firm Arch Capital Group has announced the appointment of Ed Jordan as Portfolio Manager at it reinsurance subsidiary, Arch Re.
Jordan has spent the previously 17 years at Tokio Millenium Re AG (TMR) in Bermuda, most recently as head of its Capital Solutions unit.
In this role, he was responsible for helping TMR to develop new capital markets products, allowing alternative capital investors and insurance-linked securities (ILS) funds to better access reinsurance risks.
However, RenaissanceRe, which completed its acquisition of TMR in March 2019, has no intention to continue this aspect of the business.
Instead, Jordan’s experience will be put to use at Arch Re, which is looking to take over the ILS fronting space left by TMR.
Arch has been steadily building a team led by ex-TMR recruits to focus on services that will help ILS funds and investors access more re/insurance risks.
Previous Arch hires from TMR include David McComas and Butch Agnew.
