Argo’s Lina Hantas joins Westfield Specialty as Senior Executive Officer, Dubai

Westfield Specialty has appointed Argo’s Lina Hantas as Senior Executive Officer of its Dubai office.

Hantas joins the firm after spending 11 years at Argo, where she served in a variety of leadership roles, including Chief Underwriting Officer, and Senior Executive Officer, both of which were based in Dubai.

Hantas began her career in the industry in 2003 when she joined global re/insurer AIG, and served as its Casualty Manager for its Dubai operations.

She would serve in this role for just over six years before moving onto Chubb in 2009, where she would serve as the firms Regional Casualty Manager.

Last September, it was reported that Westfield Specialty, had acquired Lloyd’s Syndicate 1200 from Argo Group International Holdings, marking the firms entry into the international specialty market.

The deal currently remains subject to regulatory approval, but it is expected to close during the first half of 2023 for a purchase price of approximately $125 million.
