Bermuda-based reinsurer Ariel Re has appointed Tim Shreeve as Head of Platform Development.
Shreeve joins the company from Nephila Capital, the insurance-linked securities (ILS) specialist manager, where he served as Head of Platform Planning.
He spent nearly 10 years at Nephila in Bermuda, having joined the company in September 2011.
Prior to this, Shreeve spent several months as a consultant at Frontier Financial Services Limited, before which he served three years in the audit team at Deloitte.
Ariel Re was recently acquired by private equity investors Pelican Ventures and J.C. Flowers & Co., who purchased the reinsurer from Argo Group International Holdings in November 2020.
Founded in 2005, Ariel Re had been part of Argo Group since 2017. The company underwrites a global portfolio of reinsurance solutions in Bermuda, London and Hong Kong through its Lloyd’s of London platform.
