Specialist managing general agent (MGA) underwriting platform, Arrow Risk Management, has appointed Paul Witzenfeld as Underwriting Practice Leader, tasked with spearheading the firm’s new property facultative (FAC) reinsurance underwriting practice.

Arrow Risk Management logoThe new practice will provide property facultative reinsurance on both primary and excess of loss basis.

The goal is to maintain a broad risk appetite, underwriting a global portfolio focused on Fortune 1000 companies and similarly sized organisations.

Business will be written on the Arrow MGA platform to take advantage of its best-in-class operational services and carrier data provision, explained the MGA.

Witzenfeld is an industry veteran with decades of experience in the property sector, spanning both underwriting and broking.

Over the last decade, he has operated exclusively within the MGA space, most recently leading the property facultative business at Asta, and previously holding senior underwriting roles at Castel, and PEN Underwriting.

Mark Harrington, Chief Underwriting Officer, Arrow Risk, commented, “Paul is a fantastic addition to the Arrow Risk team and brings exceptional depth and breadth of knowledge across the London market and internationally, underpinned by a strong leadership track record. The Arrow Hub equips him with a seamless digital infrastructure to support the growth of the Property FAC Reinsurance underwriting practice.”

Witzenfeld added, “I am delighted to be joining Arrow to launch the Property FAC Reinsurance practice. We see significant growth opportunities in this market, offering a broad range of coverage on a global basis and partnering with Fortune 1000 and equivalent companies. Working alongside the highly experienced Arrow team and leveraging next-generation technology will ensure the efficient and seamless placement of facultative business.”
