Artex Risk Solutions has announced a series of new appointments within its International unit, including the promotion of Scott Cobon to Managing Director of Bermuda.
In his new role, Cobon will be responsible for the continued development of the company’s growing Bermuda office. He brings more than a decade of experience in the Bermuda insurance management sector, and has been an integral part of Artex’s insurance-linked securities (ILS) business growth.
Cobon replaces well-known ILS and captive industry veteran, Rob Eastham, who is to take on the new role of Executive Chairman of Artex Bermuda.
At the same time, Paul Eaton has been named Managing Director, ILS, and takes responsibility for driving strategy, planning and growth of the firm’s ILS operations across all regions. Eaton joined the firm in 2004 after spending 13 years with RSA. Most recently, he led Artex’s International business development. Based in Guernsey, Eaton is a Director of Artex Guernsey’s ILS cell companies.
Finally, Artex has revealed that Mike Matthews has joined as Commercial Director, Artex International. In this newly created position, Matthews will be tasked for leading the strategy, planning and delivery of growth for the firm’s international business.
Artex Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Peter Mullen, said: “At Artex we’re committed to providing the best possible service to our customers by ensuring that we have the highest quality industry professionals. These appointments position our team for even greater innovation and growth in the coming years.”
CEO of Artex International, Nick Heys, added: “Today’s announcement is a great step forward in our ongoing commitment to succession planning and the continued delivery of a market-leading service to our customers.
“We are extremely grateful for Rob’s leadership and tenure and delighted that he has agreed to step into an Executive Chairman role, where he can continue to provide guidance and counsel to Artex and our customers. Scott is the natural successor for Rob in this role.
“Paul’s new role fits perfectly into this structure and will allow us to focus attention on ILS products and innovation for which we are already well known. We will also benefit from the substantial experience and knowledge that Mike brings to our team.”
