Arthur J. Gallagher acquires Aviation Insurance Australia

Re/insurance broking firm Arthur J. Gallagher & Co have acquired Brisbane, Queensland-based Aviation Insurance Australia.

Arthur J. Gallagher & CoTerms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1993, Aviation Insurance Australia is a specialist retail insurance broker that serves aviation and aerospace clients throughout the country.

The brokerage website says the firm manages all aircraft types including fixed wing, rotor wing, gliders, warbirds, recreational aircraft and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

Business leader Ian Tait and his team will remain in their current location under the direction of Paul Harvey, Managing Director of Specialisms for Gallagher in Australia.

“Aviation Insurance Australia is a well-respected broker that enhances our aviation capabilities and offers cross-selling opportunities in Australia,” said J. Patrick Gallagher, Jr., Chairman, President and CEO.

“I am delighted to welcome Ian and his associates to our growing, global company.”

It has been a busy time for acquisitions for Gallagher lately. The firm recently acquired P&C agency Bulen & Associates

And in early November, the firm also acquired North Carolina-based, PIUS Limited and its affiliate Newlight Capital.
