Bermuda-based global specialty insurer Ascot Group has announced several leadership promotions across the UK, Bermuda and the United States.
Nick González has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Professional Liability – Healthcare.
González joined the Ascot Group from Beazley in 2023, and served as Vice President, Professional Liability – Healthcare prior to his promotion.
An experienced healthcare professional liability underwriter, the executive spent seven years at Beazley following his four-year tenure at NAS Insurance Services.
K. Pierson Jones was promoted to Senior Vice President, Head of E&S Casualty. He has been part of the Ascot Group since 2022, having joined as Assistant Vice President, E&S Casualty. He served as Vice President, E&S Casualty – Southeast Region Manager for two years prior to his new promotion.
He has also previously worked at IAT Insurance Group, The Hanover Insurance Group, Tokio Marine HCC, and Endurance.
Promoted to Chief Claims Officer, Bermuda, Joy LaHuta joined the Ascot Group in 2021 as SVP, Head of Claims, following close to five years at Renaissance Re, where he served as Vice President, Head of Claims.
Wasner Martinez was promoted to Senior Vice President, Portfolio Solutions, following close to four years as Vice President, Portfolio Solutions. He initially joined the Ascot Group as an Assistant Vice President, Ceded Reinsurance in 2022.
Prior to this, the executive worked for almost three years with AXIS Capital and completed a 13-year tenure at AIG.
Alexander Simon is another of the Ascot Group’s most recent promotions, having been appointed Class Underwriter, International Liability Delegated Authority.
Simon joined the company in 2026 as an Underwriter for Ascot Syndicate 1414. Prior to that he spent seven years at Syndicate DTW1991.
