AM Specialty Insurance Group has appointed Joe Harding as Managing Director of UK Enterprises at Pinpoint UK.
Harding has around 15 years of underwriting experience in the London Market across commercial and specialty lines, and joins Pinpoint UK from Aspen Insurance Group, where he most recently served as an Underwriter.
Before Aspen, Harding spent over seven years at Allied World, progressing through a number of underwriting leadership roles, including Underwriter, Senior Underwriter, and Assistant Vice President, Commercial Division.
Harding began his underwriting journey at Gravity Underwriting Ltd, gaining experience across underwriting and risk management functions.
In his new role at Pinpoint UK, he will be responsible for leading the firm’s enterprise-focused underwriting strategy, supporting the development of scalable specialty insurance solutions, and strengthening broker and client relationships across the UK market.
According to PinPoint UK, the appointment reflects its continued investment in experienced underwriting leadership as it expands its presence in the UK’s wholesale insurance market and builds out its enterprise underwriting capabilities.
Readers may recall that in December last year, Pinpoint UK received Lloyd’s of London approval to operate as an authorised coverholder, strengthening its UK and London Market presence and enabling direct access to Lloyd’s via a locally established underwriting platform to support long-term growth across specialty insurance lines.
This came shortly after AM Specialty Insurance Company (UK) received authorisation from the Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority to conduct regulated insurance activities in the UK, becoming the first insurer approved under the regulators’ accelerated authorisation pathway.
