Atrium, a specialty insurer at Lloyd’s, has announced the appointment of Alice Gilbert as Underwriter, effective in the first quarter of 2027.

Atrium logoIn her new role, Gilbert will work with Matthew Greaves, Head of Diversified Risk Underwriting, to build Atrium’s growing Diversified Risk book, with a focus on sustainable growth.

Diversified Risk is written as a standalone class and as a complement to Atrium’s existing Property, Casualty and Specialty lines. The team focuses on niche and complex risks placed on a delegated basis through MGA, quota share and consortium structures, and has the ability to lead business to suit clients’ needs.

Gilbert joins Atrium from Hampden, Syndicate 2689, where she most recently served as an Underwriter on a diverse portfolio of consortia and quota share treaties.

Prior to that, she spent six years at Dale Underwriting Partners, serving as an Assistant Underwriter in its North American Property Treaty team.

Peter Laidlaw, Active Underwriter, Syndicate 609, commented, “We look forward to welcoming Alice to Atrium. She is a highly skilled underwriter with a proven track record in complex risk selection and portfolio management, and I am confident she will further strengthen the underwriting capability we deliver to our brokers and clients.

“As demand for portfolio-based insurance continues to grow, driven by delegated portfolio underwriting and increasingly sophisticated risk strategies, her insights will be key in enhancing our technical expertise and advancing our offering in this evolving market.”
