Atrium, a leading specialty insurer at Lloyd’s, has announced the appointment of James Lakin as Head of Outwards Reinsurance.
In this position, he will lead the design and placement of Atrium’s outward reinsurance programmes, ensuring the strategy supports the firm’s risk appetite, capital objectives, and long-term profitability.
Lakin moves to Atrium after 12 years at MS Amlin, where he worked within the reinsurance team and most recently served as Co-Lead of Outwards Reinsurance. Earlier in his career, he held a role at QBE.
John Fowle, CEO at Atrium, said: “Atrium is committed to delivering market leading returns to our capital providers, and our long-standing partnerships with our reinsurers are key to delivering on that commitment.
“With geopolitical volatility and structural change continuing to shape the market, a disciplined approach to reinsurance, strong partnerships, and clear risk focus have never been more essential. I’m pleased to welcome James to Atrium. His expertise will contribute significantly to the group’s continued success.”
Lakin added: “I’m delighted to join Atrium and contribute to their market leading business. Atrium is a formidable brand that shines brightly in the Lloyd’s market; there are great opportunities and times ahead.”
