Atrium, a specialist insurer operating within the Lloyd’s market, has partnered with insurtech provider Sofix to introduce BrokerBrief, an AI-driven solution designed to enhance claims handling.
The deployment brings automated claim analysis and summarisation into Atrium’s processes across all classes of business.
Developed by Sofix and integrated into Atrium’s existing claims management system, BrokerBrief converts early-stage claim notifications and related documentation into clear, structured summaries.
These are automatically attached to each claim file, enabling handlers and adjusters to grasp the situation without navigating multiple emails, attachments, or fragmented records.
The platform refines the traditional broker submission by combining key claim details, validation checks, and coverage considerations into a single, standardised output. As additional documents are received, the summary is updated dynamically, ensuring that claim records remain current at every stage.
By maintaining continuously updated claim data, BrokerBrief also lays the groundwork for advanced analytics and decision-support tools. This helps claims teams speed up initial assessment and supports more consistent, data-informed outcomes.
“BrokerBrief turns unstructured claims information into a structured, continuously refreshed view of the claim, helping handlers and adjusters act faster and make better-informed decisions,” commented Carla Viana, Chief Data Scientist at Sofix. “Instead of piecing together the position from multiple sources, teams get a clearer starting point straight from the file.”
Andrew Johnson, Delegated Authority Oversight and Ops Support Leader at Atrium, added: “Claims are the moment of truth; they’re the reason our clients buy insurance. Our focus has always been on delivering a fast, seamless claims experience, and this new tool elevates that even further. By driving real efficiencies for our brokers and clients, we’re helping them get back on their feet faster and move forward with confidence.”
The rollout builds on Sofix’s existing integration with the Insurers’ Market Repository (IMR), allowing insurers and managing agents to extract, review, and interpret large volumes of claims data.
The platform converts unstructured content, such as loss adjuster reports, broker communications, and expert evidence, into clear, usable insights. This helps claims teams assess complex files more quickly, spot patterns, and maintain alignment with Lloyd’s market requirements.
