Aventum, an international re/insurance group, has just announced the promotion of Phil Wood to the role of Chief Partnerships Officer, where he will oversee and support the development of new consumer partnerships and Synergy divisions within Aventum.

aventum-logoThis newly established position is designed to provide oversight and support to Aventum’s expanding entrepreneurial partnerships and consumer-focused Synergy deals across the group, with a specific focus on expanding partnerships in Asia.

Synergy is Aventum’s platform designed for brokers and underwriters seeking independence from corporate structures, offering equity ownership in specialised niche lines.

With over 30 years of experience in consumer business and a strong network in Asia, Wood is well-equipped to excel in this position.

John Eldridge, Managing Director at Aventum, comments, “Phil offers unrivalled expertise, guidance and leadership in this new critical role that we’ve created for Aventum. As the number and strategic importance of our consumer partnerships and Synergy deals grow, it is essential that we have cohesive oversight and support dedicated to their ongoing development and success.”

Previously, Wood served as co-founder and CEO of Novus, Rokstone’s consumer affinity and warranty business. All consumer business within Rokstone, including Novus, will now be led by John McGonigle, with Wood providing continued support.

Eldridge highlights Wood’s pivotal role in building Novus and his continued involvement in Rokstone’s consumer vertical.

Furthermore, Eldridge emphasises that this new role will enable Wood to “maximise the impact of his experience by sourcing and developing new partnership opportunities for the Group, particularly in Asia, and supporting those new and existing teams to be the best they can be.”
