AXA, the France-headquartered multinational insurance and asset management group, has announced plans to introduce Microsoft 365 Copilot to employees worldwide, describing the move as the latest stage of its workplace AI strategy and a significant development in its wider programme to deploy artificial intelligence across the organisation.
The company said the rollout builds on the introduction of Secure GPT, its internal AI platform launched three years ago to provide employees and business applications with secure access to large language models (LLMs). According to AXA, Microsoft 365 Copilot will now be implemented in phases across its global workforce.
The platform will bring AI-powered assistance directly into Microsoft applications already used by employees, including Teams, Outlook and Word. The company expects the technology to help staff complete routine work more efficiently, improve day-to-day productivity and make collaboration easier across international teams.
According to AXA, the deployment reflects its continued investment in innovation within the insurance sector while supporting employees with digital tools intended to improve customer outcomes and the overall workplace experience. The addition of Microsoft 365 Copilot is expected to help employees provide a more personalised service in a secure environment while responding more effectively to the changing needs of both individual and commercial customers.
The deployment will be accompanied by further investment in employee training as part of its broader AI strategy. The company plans to expand its AI upskilling programme to help employees develop practical knowledge of artificial intelligence alongside an understanding of its responsible and ethical use. AXA said the programme will continue to emphasise the importance of human oversight when making key decisions.
Matthieu Caillat, Group Chief Technology & AI Officer and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Group Operations, commented: “Artificial Intelligence represents a significant opportunity to empower our employees, strengthen our innovation leadership, and better serve our customers. Our ambition is to combine technological excellence with a responsible and human-centric approach, ensuring that AI creates lasting value for our people, our customers and society.”
Karima Silvent, Deputy General Secretary, in charge of Human Resources, Compliance, Audit, AXA EssentiALL and GIE AXA, added: “Following the successful deployment of Secure GPT, these new solutions mark another important milestone in our journey toward an AI-enabled workplace.
“Our ambition is not only to provide our people with access to the best AI capabilities, but also to empower every employee to confidently integrate AI into their daily work. Thanks to the constructive dialogue with employee representatives around the use of AI and the feedback of our employees, we are strengthening our collective ability to innovate and better serve our customers.”
