AXA XL appoints Global Head of Equine, Livestock & Aquaculture

AXA XL insurance, a division of AXA Group, has named Chris Williams as the company’s Global Head of Equine, Livestock & Aquaculture, based in London and effective immediately.

axa-logoIn his new role, he takes responsibility for the development of the firm’s Equine, Livestock & Aquaculture portfolio, and will tasked with devising and delivering underwriting strategy and product profitability.

Williams brings 34 years of insurance sector experience to the role, having started his career in the industry at Cork Bays Fisher in 1984, a Lloyd’s of London brokerage. After numerous roles in the broking space with Ropners, Devitts and Robert Fraser, Williams was appointed Divisional Director – Bloodstock at SBJ Nelson Steaveson in 2003.

In 2008, he moved to specialty re/insurer Brit Syndicates Ltd as Class Underwriter – Bloodstock, where he had responsibility for the establishment of the class business plan, business development and all broker and client relationships.
