AXA XL names Bertrand Romagne as CEO for XLRE Europe

AXA XL has appointed Bertrand Romagne to the role of CEO for XLRE Europe.

axa-logoThe firm said in a LinkedIn post that it was proud that Romagne, with thirty years’ experience, was taking on the role.

It said: “In addition to his international region leadership responsibilities, Bertrand will now be CEO for XLRE Europe. In his new role, he will continue to represent the needs of our clients at a leadership level and will work to strengthen our business across the international region.”

Romagne’s LinkedIn profile states that he has been with AXA XL for four years, joining as chief executive for Europe and CUO of P&C International Re in September 2018.

Before that, he spent eight years at XL Catlin as the general manager of its French branch between 2010 and 2015, before becoming underwriting director of EMEA reinsurance.

He also spent seven years as SVP and head of property treaty with the firm between 2003 and 2010, and one year as deputy head of property.
