AXA XL, the property and casualty (P&C) and specialty risk division of AXA, has announced the appointment of Enrique López Torrents as Country Manager, Iberia, effective May 9, subject to regulatory approval.
Within this role, Enrique will succeed José Ramón Morales, who will be leaving AXA XL to pursue opportunities outside of AXA Group.
Enrique joined AXA in 2005 where he served as Program Manager for AXA Seguros.
He then moved to Paris in 2010 to serve for GIE AXA and AXA Global Life as Program Director, a role that saw him lead the implementation of international P&C and Life Savings initiatives.
Enrique joined AXA XL in 2017 as Senior Operations Leader for Southern Europe & Latin America.
However, he was later promoted to the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Europe, before joining AXA XL’s APAC & Europe Business Unit as Head of Distribution Performance Management.
“Enrique brings a deep understanding of our business, having held strategy, middle office and distribution roles across AXA”, said Julien Guénot, Regional Manager, Southern Europe.
“That, combined with his experience and his knowledge of the Spanish market position him ideally to lead our teams in Spain, driving collaboration and innovation to continue to support our clients and brokers in Iberia.”
Guénot, continued, “I am thankful to José Ramón for his dedication and his many contributions to our operations in Spain throughout his 10-year tenure with AXA XL.”
