French insurer AXA’s property, casualty and specialty risk division, AXA XL, has promoted Simon Murray to Head of Aerospace, United Kingdom & Lloyd’s and United States.
In his new role, Murray will lead the firm’s aviation and aerospace underwriting strategy across the three markets, supporting clients in a sector projected to reach $8.88 billion by 2034.
AXA XL explained that the promotion recognises Murray’s “outstanding leadership of its UK & Lloyd’s Aerospace team” since 2020.
He has spent nearly two decades with AXA XL, and brings the relationships, vision, and expertise to unite the firm’s regions and drive growth.
In the past, Murray has served as the Chief Underwriting Officer for Aviation of the UK & Ireland at XL Catlin for over seven years.
He started his career with the insurer as a Global Product Leader for Airline at XL Catlin.
