AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, a Bermuda-based global specialty insurer and reinsurer providing insurance and reinsurance solutions, has announced the appointment of Jennifer Davies as Active Underwriter for AXIS Syndicate 1686.
Davies will oversee the underwriting and related business activities of Syndicate 1686, succeeding Toby Read. AXIS confirmed that Read will retain his position as Chief Underwriting Officer for AXIS Managing Agency and continue as a member of the AXIS Global Markets leadership team. Davies will report to Read in her new role.
She joins the company with 25 years of experience in specialty underwriting and leadership. Davies joins AXIS from Munich Re Syndicate, where she most recently served as Deputy Active Underwriter.
Davies began her insurance career in 2001 at Watkins Syndicate, which was owned by Munich Re, before moving to Chaucer Syndicate in Singapore. She later returned to Munich Re in 2011, taking on underwriting and management roles in Singapore and London.
AXIS Capital said Syndicate 1686 is its principal Lloyd’s underwriting platform, providing insurance and reinsurance solutions to customers worldwide across a diversified portfolio of specialty and complex risks.
