AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has announced the appointment of Linda Ventresca to the newly created role of Chief Strategy Officer, reporting directly to President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Albert Benchimol.
In her new role, Ventresca will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the re/insurer’s strategic priorities, and for driving the delivery of those priorities across the firm.
Ventresca previously served as Chief Transformation Officer at AXIS, and will continue to lead the firm’s enterprise-wide transformation programme, while also continuing to serve on the firm’s Executive Committee.
Furthermore, the AXIS Corporate Development and Corporate Communications teams will continue to report in to Ventresca.
She has been with AXIS for over 15 years, and has held a number of leadership roles, including Head of Corporate Development and Head of Investor Relations. Before AXIS, she was an investment associate with MMC Capital Inc., and she has previously been a member of the Financial Institutions Investment Banking Group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, and UBS Securities LLC.
Commenting on the appointment, Benchimol said: “Linda is a respected leader, trusted advisor and the perfect person to serve as our first Chief Strategy Officer. She’s been with AXIS since nearly the beginning and has an expansive understanding of our business and the forces that our transforming the insurance industry.
“In addition to working with me to help shape our corporate strategy, Linda will serve as a partner to our Insurance and Reinsurance businesses and will help ensure there is direct alignment between our corporate strategies and the individual strategies that are being driven within our segments.”
