AXIS Capital Holdings Limited has named both James Martin and Russ Madore as Vice President, U.S. Programs, AXIS Insurance Property and Casualty, reporting to John Tatum, Executive Vice President and Head of U.S. Programs, AXIS Insurance.
The pair will be based in the firm’s Alpharetta, Georgia, U.S., office, and each will be responsible for the oversight of select AXIS Insurance programs within the property and casualty industry.
Tatum said; “These appointments speak to AXIS’ commitment to further deepening our scale and relevance in specialty Property and Casualty programs, an area where the Company has long had a strong track record of success.
“In Jim, we’ve added a highly seasoned professional and a proven leader who brings deep experience in the construction and transportation categories. We’re also pleased to announce the transition of Russ to our U.S. P&C team and look forward to the insights and ideas that he will bring to the U.S. Property and Casualty team from his nearly 15 years with AXIS.”
Martin has almost 40 years of insurance industry experience, and prior to joining AXIS worked at Starr Companies as part of their Environmental Division, as an Auto Product Line Specialist. He has also held positions at CNA, Continental National Indemnity, Northbrook Property and Casualty, Midwestern Indemnity, and The Hartford.
Madore had held a number of different senior roles at AXIS Insurance in the past, and is actually one of the firm’s longest-tenured employees, after joining the firm in 2002. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Finance Officer, for the U.S. Division of AXIS Insurance.
