AXIS Re names Haugh as President of new Global Property division

AXIS Re, the reinsurance arm of Bermuda-based AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, has announced a simplified overall structure, which includes the establishment of a new Property Reinsurance division, led by Ann Haugh.

axis-capital-logoPreviously AXIS Re’s President of Global Markets, Haugh has been appointed President of the reinsurer’s new Global Property unit.

In her new role, Haugh takes on responsibility for leading property underwriting on a global basis.

As well as the new property division, AXIS Re will also combine the EMEA LatAm and Asia Pacific Divisions into a single International Division.

The International Division will be led by Andy Hottinger as President, while Les Loh will continue to serve as President of Asia Pacific, and lead the market, reporting to Hottinger.

Additionally, the AXIS Re Global Markets division has become the Specialties Division, and will be led by Jonathan Gray as President. Previously, Gray held the role of Head of Lloyd’s for AXIS Re.

In his new role, Gray will be responsible for leading the carrier’s specialty lines on a global basis, which include Agriculture, Aviation, Credit & Surety, Marine, and Mortgage. Gray will report to Steve Arora, AXIS Re’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will join the Reinsurance Leadership team.

Jason Busti, President, North America Division, will continue to lead this part of the business, with the additional responsibility of leading the AXIS Re Strategic Partners client initiative.

All of the new appointments are effective July 1st, 2021.
