Barbican Insurance Group, which underwrites re/insurance predominantly through its Lloyd’s platform, has announced the appointment of Antony Hope as Class Underwriter for Directors’ & Officers’ (D&O) liability insurance, with immediate effect.
He will report to Gavin Stanley, the company’s Head of Financial Lines, and work alongside Sarah McGurk.
Hope brings over 23 years’ experience and most recently served as Senior Underwriter and Head of Management Liability at Markel International.
His underwriting career also includes deputy class underwriter, D&O at Argo Managing Agency and underwriter, D&O at Dual Corporate Risks.
“Antony is a proven underwriter who has excelled at developing and building profitable books of business geared towards long-term sustainability,” said Stanley.
“Highly technical in his approach, he prides himself on being able to develop precisely structured coverage for even the most complex of risks.”
