Beazley, a large specialist insurer, has expanded Stefan Wunderlich’s responsibilities and appointed him as Head of Alternative Risk Transfer (ART) alongside his existing role of Head of Parametric.
For the new role, Wunderlich will be relocating to Bermuda, subject to immigration approval.
The move strengthens the insurer’s commitment to Bermuda, building on the recent confirmation of Beazley’s new office at Ninety-One, 91 Front Street, opening in June 2027. The office lease was secured through Brookfield Asset Management.
Paul Bantick, Group Chief Underwriting Officer, Beazley commented on the appointmnet, “We are moving at pace to build out our presence in Bermuda.
“We have a growing team on the ground, are already successfully underwriting Property Treaty, and the deployment of Stefan’s expertise will see a step change in our ART offering, which includes parametrics.
“It’s exciting to be part of Bermuda’s innovative insurance community and have the opportunity to better support our brokers and clients in managing complex risks.”
The insurer has continued to invest in the island as it serves as a strategic hub for complex and specialty solutions, including ART, Mortgage Indemnity Insurance and Property Treaty Reinsurance.
