Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI), an insurer offering commercial property, casualty, and specialty coverage, has announced key promotions across its property leadership team.
Ryan Abelli and Chris Lemoine have been named Co-Heads of Wholesale General Property, while JP Ahlgren has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Property.
“Ryan, Chris and JP have been instrumental in building our strong wholesale general property business and our industry-leading team from the ground up. I look forward to working with them as we continue to deepen our distribution partner relationships and drive continued growth across key property segments nationwide,” added Greg Freeman, SVP, Head of Property, BHSI.
Abelli and Lemoine assume their new responsibilities following the retirement of Chris Dalby, who spent more than ten years with the organisation. “Chris has been a foundational leader, building our property business and team from day one. I am grateful for his exemplary leadership and his lasting impact on our business and wish him all the best in his new chapter,” Freeman continued.
Abelli joined BHSI in 2013 and brings 18 years of experience in property underwriting. He previously served as Senior Vice President, Wholesale Property. Based in Boston, he can be reached at [email protected]
Lemoine also joined the company in 2013 and has 19 years of property underwriting experience. He most recently held the position of Senior Vice President, Wholesale Property.
Ahlgren became part of BHSI in 2014 and has 18 years of underwriting experience in the property sector. In his expanded role, he will lead daily field underwriting operations and report to Abelli.
