Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has appointed Gabriel Poppie as Head of Customer & Broker Engagement for the US Central Region.
Based in Chicago, Poppie joins BHSI with more than two decades of experience within the insurance industry.
Throughout his career he has held numerous sales leadership, distribution and customer relationship roles at both major global brokers and insurance carriers.
He joins BHSI from Vantage Risk Companies, where he most recently held the role of Central Region Executive.
Before he joined Vantage, Poppie spent three years working at Sompo International.
Additionally, he also spent over five years working at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. During his time with the firm he served as Key Account Manager for three years, and Head of Sales, US Central for over two years.
Poppie began his career in the industry in 2000 working as a broker at Marsh.
