In his new role, Raj will focus on building a market-leading Lloyd’s and London market team for OAC covering a wide range of finance, actuarial, risk and consulting services.

He will also oversee OAC’s software and intellectual property development initiatives in the division.

“I am very excited to join OAC and to be part of its next phase of growth. OAC has an established presence in the consulting market and has a strong reputation for reliability, quality and innovation,” Raj commented.

Adding: “I am looking forward to taking OAC’s unique and personable approach to consulting into the Lloyd’s and London Market. The general insurance industry is dealing with many complex challenges including heighted geopolitical risk, macro-economic uncertainty, the impact of climate change and the impact of artificial intelligence on society and the industry. I look forward to bringing my experience to help new and existing clients navigate this complex environment.”

Raj has spent the last two decades working within the insurance market in various actuarial, risk, finance and modelling roles.

He is joining OAC from his role as Associate Director at Grant Thornton, and has also previously worked at Munich Re, Liberty Mutual, ACE (now Chubb), Towers Perrin (now WTW) and Royal & Sun Alliance.

The executive’s appointment follows Kathryn Moore who joined OAC in October as Head of Personal Lines.

Alongside Graeme Charters, Head of Non-Life Consulting, Raj and Moor are to drive OAC’s significant growth ambitions in this sector, the firm stated.

Darren Richards, Chief Executive Officer at OAC, said: “Bharat is a highly experienced actuary and Non-Life insurance specialist. He will bolster OAC’s proposition considerably, especially within the Lloyd’s and London market as we continue to grow and expand into different verticals. With Broadstone’s backing, OAC is at an exciting inflection point and we are excited to have Bharat on board to support this growth journey.”
