Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) has announced the appointment of Andrew Hopper as Head of Financial Institutions, UK, and the promotion of Chris Nixon to Underwriting Manager, Executive & Professional Lines, UK.
Nixon will be taking over the role from Chris Warrior, who is retiring at year end.
“I am extremely proud of the reputation BHSI has established as a trusted long-term partner in the UK executive & professional lines market,” said Jessica Kirby, Head of Executive & Professional Lines, UK, at BHSI.
She continued: “I look forward to working with Andrew Hopper and Chris Nixon as we continue to deliver the strength of BHSI and our CLAIMS IS OUR PRODUCT philosophy to the marketplace. I also want to thank Chris Warrior for his pivotal work building our stellar team, deepening our market relationships, and his significant contribution to our solid portfolio over the past five years.
“Chris is retiring after a distinguished 42-year career working across the financial lines market. I wish him and his family all the best in his new chapter.”
Hopper, who will be based in London, is joining BHSI with over two decades of financial lines experience with both brokers and underwriters and a particular focus on financial institutions.

Nixon, who has over a decade of industry experience, joined BHSI in 2019 as Senior Underwriter, UK Commercial D&O.
He was then promoted to Underwriting Manager, Commercial Management Liability, UK, and eventually to his current expanded role.
BHSI’s executive & professional lines products in the UK and Europe include executive liability, financial institutions, cyber liability, professional lines, transactional liability, and financial institutions coverages.
