BMS Re, the specialty reinsurance arm of global broker BMS Group, has appointed Daryl Polenz as Executive Vice President (EVP) of Origination, where he will work closely with Russ McGuire, Head of Origination.
Polenz will also have a key focus on accelerating BMS Re’s growth strategy with balance sheet businesses.
Based in Kansas City, Missouri, United States, Polenz joins the firm following a a 10-year tenure at reinsurance giant Swiss Re, where he most recently served as Senior Vice President, Head of Sales.
In that role, he was Head of direct sales for property & casualty (P&C) treaty reinsurance within the Regional & National division of the US Americas region.
When he joined the reinsurer in 2013, Polenz served as Vice President, Account Executive, a role he would hold for over five years.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Polenz spent six years working at First Empire Securities, where he held the role of Vice President, Insurance Client Relations.
In addition, Polenz also previously served in leadership roles at various other firms, including Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC and Business Risk Technologies, Inc.
Polenz’s several decades of industry expertise makes him a great fit for his new role at BMS Re.
