Giles Taylor, former Lloyd’s Chief Risk Officer (CRO) has joined UK based hybrid insurer Bridgehaven’s leadership team.
Taylor brings over 25 years of insurance market experience from his time in the Lloyd’s and company markets to his new role.
He spent 16 years at Lloyd’s where he held a number of senior Risk and International Regulatory roles, most recently as CRO in the Corporation’s Brussels venture. Taylor also worked at Ace (now Chubb) for nine years in legal and compliance roles.
Paul Jewell, Bridgehaven CEO, stated: “Giles is a significant addition to the leadership team at Bridgehaven. He brings with him an enviable track record in the Lloyd’s and company markets, and considerable experience in supporting businesses to achieve their growth and development ambitions.
“He also brings a wealth of international risk and compliance expertise which will enable us to explore new avenues for growth.”
Commenting on his appointment, Taylor said: “I am delighted to be joining Bridgehaven at such an important stage for the firm. I look forward to supporting its exciting plans for future growth and development.
“In particular, my focus will be to ensure the health of its risk management framework as its innovative hybrid insurance model continues to build momentum.”
Bridgehaven has experienced rapid growth since its launch in July 2023, expanding from an initial team of three to a workforce of twenty-three with Taylor’s appointment.
The hybrid insurer currently manages ten MGAs and has £300 million in written binder premium.
