Specialty insurer and reinsurer Brit Ltd has announced the appointments of James Allchorne and Laura Wells as Senior Underwriter and Underwriter, respectively, within its North American Open Market Property team.
Allchorne joins from Hiscox, where he was a Property Underwriter, and also acts a Consultant for the Disaster Risk Financing and Insurance team at the World Bank.
He started his career at Argo Syndicate 1200 where he held a number of underwriting roles, the most recent being Property Underwriter.
Wells, meanwhile, has 20 years’ experience in direct and facultative commercial property underwriting, and joins from Aviva where she held the role of Senior Wholesale Underwriter.
During her career Wells has also worked in a number of other underwriting positions including commercial property roles at MS Amlin, WR Berkley and Beazley.
Both new appointments will report to Neil Russell, Class Underwriter, North American Open Market Property.
