Brit bolsters Property Facilities team

Specialty insurer Brit has added Joanne Allen and Thomas Poynder to its Property Facilities team, effective early January 2022.

BRIT logoAllen joins Brit as Flood Class Underwriter, reporting to Sarah Mendola, Divisional Director. Poynder joins as Underwriter for Transportation, reporting into David Perkins, Class Underwriter, Transportation.

Joining from Argo Global, Allen has more than two decades of experience underwriting US property catastrophe business. Most recently, she served as Class Underwriter and Head of US Delegated Portfolio for Flood and Bank-related P&L for six years.

Earlier in her career, Allen held numerous property underwriting positions at Ark Management Syndicate, Catlin, and Wellington Underwriting.

Poynder joins the insurer from his most recent role as Assistant Underwriter for International Transportation at Managing Agency Partners (MAP). He joined MAP in 2016 as an Underwriting Assistant for Motor. His career started at Chubb underwriting Political Risk & Trade Credit.
