Global specialty re/insurer Brit Limited has partnered with Schillings Critical Risk, part of Schillings, an international issues and crisis law firm, on the creation of a comprehensive kidnap for ransom offering.

BRIT logoBrit cites a rapidly changing geopolitical and economic climate as a primary driver for the offering and states that roughly 30,000 incidents of kidnap for ransom occur each year, with about 1,000 of these involving foreign nationals.

Brit’s Kidnap for Ransom team is to be led by Stephen Quinton, who joined in September, and will combine specialist underwriting capabilities with award-winning privacy, security and reputation expertise.

Brit and Schillings’ joint vision is to help clients navigate an ever changing environment and to protect people, assets and reputations from the risks they may face.

“We are pleased to announce this partnership with Schillings Critical Risk. At Brit, we are always looking for new ways to both enhance the solutions we are able to offer our clients and evolve our capabilities in response to changing risks,” said Matthew Wilson, Chief Executive Officer, Brit.
