Bermuda-based re/insurer Lancashire Holdings Limited has appointed Bryan Joseph as a Non-Executive Director and a member of both the Audit and Underwriting and Underwriting Risk Committees.
Overall, Joseph brings more than four decades of industry experience towards his new role.
He began his career working at Legal & General.
Throughout his extensive career in the industry, he has held a number of senior actuarial roles, including as a partner and global chief actuary within PwC.
Joseph, joined the board of XL Catlin – now known as AXA XL – as an independent non-executive director serving in a variety of committee roles within the AXA XL group, including as Chair of the audit committees, and most recently as Chair of XL Insurance Company SE.
Additionally, Joseph is also a partner with Vario Partners LLP, which offers consultancy services within the insurance and reinsurance third party capital sector.
Elsewhere, Lancashire Holdings also announced that after completing nine years of service, Simon Fraser is stepping down from the Board at the conclusion of the 2023 AGM, which was recently held in the company’s Bermuda offices. Fraser has also stepped down as a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees.

In their Q123 results, Lancashire Holdings reported a 22.7% rise in GPW to $586.2 million from $477.9 million, the highest the group has delivered in a first quarter.
