Burns & Wilcox names Hiscox’s Wood head of Professional Liability practice

Wholesale insurance brokerage and underwriter, Burns & Wilcox, has announced the appointment of Andy Wood as Vice President and Practice Group Leader, Professional Liability.

burns-and-wilcox-logo-newIn his new role, Wood will be responsible for working across Burns & Wilcox to build a cohesive strategy and develop new products and programs while aggressively recruiting top Professional Liability producers nationwide, the firm stated.

He is joining Burns & Wilcox from Hiscox, where he most recently led the company across the Midwest overseeing a diverse portfolio that included Technology, Errors & Omissions (E&O), Cyber, Management Liability, Miscellaneous Professional Liability, Allied Healthcare, Architects & Engineers (A&E), Casualty, Terrorism and Kidnap & Ransom (K&R).

Prior to that, Wood spent five years at Insureon,and 14 years at InsuranceNoodle, Inc. His career spans nearly three decades including other roles at Willis and CNA.

Based in Chicago, he will report directly to Danny Kaufman, President, Burns & Wilcox, who commented: “Andy joins Burns & Wilcox with a proven track record of outstanding business development, underwriting and broking excellence, as well as advanced technology deployment.
