Canada Life, a life insurance and pensions provider in the UK, has confirmed the appointment of Stuart Carroll as Chief Actuary, effective from 1 January 2026, reporting to Stuart Robinson, Chief Financial Officer.
Carroll is a senior actuary and financial services professional with extensive international experience. He joined Canada Life UK in May 2024 as ALM and Investments Director. Prior to this, he served as Chief Actuary at Prudential Hong Kong and has held actuarial roles at Just Group, Legal & General and Swiss Re.
He will succeed Mark Pibworth, who is preparing for retirement. Pibworth will remain with the business on a part-time basis, continuing to provide commercial support within the actuarial function. He joined Canada Life in July 2020 as Deputy Chief Actuary and has more than 25 years’ experience in financial services.
