Specialty re/insurer Canopius has announced the appointment of Kate Roy as Chief Operating Officer, a role she will assume in early 2022.
She reports to Neil Robertson, the firm’s deputy Chief Executive Officer.
Roy joins from Willis Towers Watson, where since 2015 she has held the role of COO for Great Britain and Willis.
She has also previously held senior positions at AIG and Capita Insurance Services.
Kate brings to Canopius a proven track record of leading and delivering complex and transformational operational solutions in business units across multiple geographies.
With a client-centric approach and focus on efficiency, Kate is also an advocate for technological and digital solutions, as evidenced by her involvement on the PPL board since the platform’s inception.
“Kate is hugely experienced across the gamut of global (re)insurance, with a firm understanding of our business and the markets we operate in,” said Robertson.
“Kate will help shape our future operating model and her energy and enthusiasm will be an asset to our positive distinctive culture and will undoubtably help us realise Canopius’s future ambition.”
