In his new role, Bridges will be based in Bermuda. He has over two decades of London Market experience. Most recently, he served at SCOR P&C for six years as Head of UK and MEA Treaty Claims.

In the past, Bridges has served as the Head of Claims at Pioneer Underwriters and Head of Reinsurance Claims at Markel.

Charles Cooper, Bermuda Chief Executive Officer, Canopius Group, commented on the appointment, “Canopius is always looking for ways to best serve its brokers and insureds, and we pride ourselves on always looking for a reason to pay a claim.

“As our Bermuda reinsurance operations scale at pace, maintaining that philosophy was essential. Bringing Dan in to lead claims is a crucial part of that. His expertise and experience will be invaluable as we continue to grow, and I look forward to welcoming him.”

Meanwhile, Cannon will be based in London and joins from Onda, where he served as Chief Claims Officer for two years. He also has over twenty years of experience, having held senior claims positions at Marsh and Tokio Marine Kiln.

Jen Smith, UK Head of Claims, Canopius Group, added, “Cyber is a key priority for us. When insureds are facing what can be incredibly stressful and often business‑critical incidents, having dedicated, knowledgeable claims support is vital.

“Patrick’s appointment strengthens our ability to deliver exactly that and ensures we continue providing the highest level of service.”
