Canopius Group, a global specialty and property and casualty re/insurer, has appointed Jasan Fitzpatrick as General Counsel, effective April 1st, 2026.
In this newly created role, Fitzpatrick will report to Neil Robertson, Group Chief Executive Officer, Canopius.
His new role includes responsibilities that previously sat under the remit of the Chief Risk Officer, Sheldon Lacy.
Fitzpatrick has extensive legal and regulatory expertise. The firm expects that he will be instrumental in supporting Canopius as it continues to expand its footprint in the jurisdictions where it is based.
Most recently, he served at Legal & General as Group M&A Director, responsible for leading global deal activity across the Group.
In the past, Fitzpatrick has held the role of General Counsel at Legal & General Capital, Cala Homes, Premium Credit and Northern Rock.
