Canopius Group, a global specialty re/insurer, has announced the appointment of Mark Gazzard as a Chemical Underwriter within its Heavy Industry & Engineering division.
In this role, Gazzard’s remit will include supporting the expansion of the company’s existing offering and providing specialist cover and expertise to cater for the increasing demand for chemical businesses in the UK and globally.
Gazzard is a market veteran with over three decades of industry experience. He has particular expertise in chemicals manufacturers.
At Canopius, Gazzard will offer cover and expertise in organic and inorganic chemicals, develop tailored and flexible solutions for chemical clients globally and spearhead the development of this industry pillar for the firm.
Prior to this, Gazzard was at QBE, where he was responsible for the significant growth of its UK chemicals business. Previously, he served as a commercial underwriter at Zurich.
