Global specialty insurer and reinsurer Canopius Group has announced the appointment of Claire Wallace to Head of Marine Treaty, effective immediately.
Based in London and reporting to Canopius’s Head of Specialty Reinsurance, Chris Gray, within her new role Wallace will be responsible for leading a team of global underwriters writing marine and energy treaty reinsurance.
Wallace joins Canopius from underwriting firm, Atrium, where since 2014, she held the title of Marine Reinsurance Underwriter, writing the marine and energy excess loss account for London and international clients.
Prior to Atrium, Wallace previously served at Canopius, where she began her underwriting career in 2008.
However, before that, she spent 18 years serving as a marine and energy reinsurance broker, most recently for Aon.
Addressing Wallace’s appointment, Gray, said, “We are very pleased to have Claire leading our Marine Treaty team. She brings a wealth of experience to the role, ensuring we continue to offer the best service to our clients and brokers during this exciting phase for Canopius.”
