Canopius, a leading global specialty (re)insurer, has announced the appointment of Isabel Finn as a Senior Cyber Threat Intelligence Analyst, effective immediately.

canopius-logoFinn, who joins from FTI Consulting, brings a wealth of experience in the field of cybersecurity and will play a pivotal role in launching Canopius’ in-house cyber threat consultancy service.

In her previous roles as a Threat Intelligence Consultant at FTI Consulting, Cyber Threat Analyst at Darktrace, and Consultant Cyber Analyst at Francis Maude Associates (FMA), Finn honed her expertise in threat intelligence, security operations, compliance, risk assessments, and transformation programs. Her diverse experience equips her with a comprehensive understanding of the evolving cyber threat landscape.

Working closely with Mathin Ahmadi, Canopius’ Head of Cyber Insights and Analytics, Finn will co-lead the launch of the carrier’s new cyber threat consultancy service. The practice aims to provide Canopius’ insureds with enhanced support, including expert guidance on strengthening cybersecurity defenses and market-leading analytics to develop tailored risk mitigation programs.

This initiative builds upon the recent establishment of Canopius’ Cyber Incident Management Team (CIMT), ensuring policyholders have access to specialised in-house support throughout their cybersecurity journey.

Ahmadi emphasised the importance of understanding and mitigating cyber threats for clients, given the continuous evolution and increasing sophistication of cybercriminals. Canopius is committed to maintaining its position at the forefront of cyber threat intelligence and providing outstanding service to clients throughout the cybersecurity process.

“I am very pleased to welcome Isabel to the cyber team, who represents another key hire as we continue to scale our services and capabilities. Isabel, like many of our recent hires, augments our underwriting expertise by bringing front line experience, from outside the insurance sector, to Canopius.”

Isabel Finn expressed her enthusiasm for joining Canopius and highlighted her passion for building predictive and quantitative risk models that leverage cyber threat intelligence, business factors, and technical security controls. She aims to deliver actionable insights to Canopius’ Cyber & Technology team, utilising her breadth of experience in cybersecurity.
