Canopius, an international specialty and property and casualty re/insurer, has announced the appointment of Victoria Baxter as Head of Property Treaty in London, effective immediately.
In this role, Baxter will be responsible for leading the London-based Property Treaty portfolio, working closely with Canopius’ teams in Bermuda and across the APAC region to ensure alignment across the business.
She was appointed Head of US Property Treaty in 2022, having previously spent three years as a reinsurance underwriter within the team. Baxter joined Canopius in 2019 following the acquisition of AmTrust and brings more than two decades of underwriting experience in the London Market.
Canopius continues to invest in the expansion of its reinsurance platform, strengthening its operations in London, Bermuda, Singapore, and Sydney. The company is pursuing disciplined growth across its treaty businesses, with a focus on building strong positions in markets where it sees long-term opportunity.
Baxter will report to Rachel Webber, who is due to take up the role of Head of Reinsurance, UK, in February 2026.
