Carbon Underwriting Limited (Carbon), an independent managing general underwriter and Lloyd’s syndicate CBN 4747, has announced that Lloyd’s, the insurance and reinsurance market, has granted approval for the launch of Syndicate 5757, effective 1 January 2025.
This marks a significant development as it introduces Carbon’s second syndicate at Lloyd’s, expanding its global presence and moving closer to its goal of becoming a leading player in delegated authority business.
Syndicate 5757 will be built on a technology-focused model using Carbon’s unique platform, Graphene. This new syndicate will target US programme business exclusively.
By leveraging its advanced technology and processes, Carbon aims to promote innovation and deliver exceptional underwriting in this fast-paced, data-driven market.
The management of Syndicate 5757 will be handled by Asta, the top third-party managing agent at Lloyd’s, which also oversaw the creation of CBN 4747, one of the pioneering Lloyd’s syndicates-in-a-box (SIABs).
The establishment of Syndicate 5757 further highlights Asta’s efficient managing agency approach and its crucial role in facilitating access to Lloyd’s for ambitious underwriters.
