Lloyd’s syndicate Carbon Underwriting Limited has announced a significant change in its senior leadership as Rupert Atkin takes over as Chairman, effective immediately.
After more than five years of service, current Chairman Stephen Card will be stepping down from his role.
Atkin is currently the Chairman of Ark Managing Agency and Whitespace, and also a Director of Amwins Group Inc. and Alwen Hough Johnson.
Previously, he served as Chairman and CEO of Talbot Underwriting Ltd which is the Managing Agency for Syndicate 1183, the syndicate he founded in 1991.
Atkin has extensive industry experience, serving as chairman of the Lloyd’s Market Association from 2012 to 2015.
He also previously served as a member of the Council of Lloyd’s from 2006 to 2016, including as Deputy Chairman of Lloyd’s from 2014 to 2016.
