Gallagher Re, the global reinsurance broking and advisory firm, has announced the appointment of Carlos Grijalva as Executive Director, Head of Cyber for APAC.
Based in Hong Kong, Grijalva reportedly brings extensive experience across underwriting and broking roles in the APAC cyber market.
Most recently, he served as Head of Cyber Sales, Asia, at WTW’s Willis, where he was responsible for driving sales initiatives, strengthening market engagement, and expanding distribution networks across the region.
During his more than two years at Willis, Grijalva also served as Cyber Leader for Hong Kong and Greater China, helping to develop the firm’s cyber business across North Asia.
Before joining Willis, he held senior positions at major insurers, gaining experience in product development, underwriting, and sales management, while delivering consistent growth across multiple markets.
Gallagher Re said that in his new role, Grijalva will work closely with its APAC regional teams, the global cyber team, and colleagues across Gallagher to develop and expand cyber capabilities across the value chain in the region.
The firm added that, amid a rapidly growing client base in Asia-Pacific, Grijalva’s appointment reflects its commitment to strengthening its local presence in one of the fastest-growing regions for cyber risk and insurance.
